HobbyTown co-branding with independent dealers is proliferating nationwide as several well-established hobby shops have affiliated themselves with the HobbyTown brand.
Recent sign-ups include: King R/C (King, N.C.); Big Valley Hobbies (Alamosa, Colo.); Kranzel’s Hobbies (Camp Hill, Pa.); Hobby Crossing (Bowling Green, Ky.); and R/C Fun Park (Granger, Ind.).
Co-branding gets a ringing endorsement from Bruce Throne, who runs Walt’s Hobbies in Syracuse, N.Y., and recently stepped down as president of the National Retail Hobby Stores Association (NRHSA). “I should have co-branded years ago,” Throne says.
Additionally, HobbyTown has announced several new franchises, with stores opening in: Waterloo, Iowa; Abilene and Brownsville, Texas; and Sioux Falls, S.D. HobbyTown stores are also on the way in Madison, Wis., and Southfield, Mich.
